چکیده

We perform linear analysis of thermal instability in a contracting large cloud filled with warm H I gas and investigate the effect of metallicity and radiation flux. When the cloud reaches critical density n f , the cloud fragments into cool, dense condensations because of thermal instability. For a lower metallicity gas cloud, the value of n f is high. Collision between condensations will produce self-gravitating clumps and stars thereafter. From the result of calculation, we suggest that high star formation efficiency and bound cluster formation are realized in low-metallicity and/or strong-radiation environments. Cluster Formation in Contracting Molecular Clouds

We explore, through a simplified, semianalytic model, the formation of dense clusters containing massive stars. The parent cloud spawning the cluster is represented as an isothermal sphere. This sphere is in nearYforce balance between self-gravity and turbulent pressure. Self-gravity, mediated by turbulent dissipation, drives slow contraction of the cloud, eventually leading to a sharp central ...

Simulating the formation of molecular clouds. I. Slow formation by gravitational collapse from static initial conditions

We study the formation of H2 in the ISM, using a modified version of the astrophysical magnetohydrodynamical code ZEUS-MP that includes a nonequilibrium treatment of the formation and destruction of H2. We examine two different approximations to treat the shielding of H2 against photodissociation: a local approximation, which gives us a solid lower bound on the amount of shielding, and a method...

Dark Cloud Cores and Gravitational Decoupling from Turbulent Flows

We test the hypothesis that the starless cores may be gravitationally bound clouds supported largely by thermal pressure by comparing observed molecular line spectra to theoretical spectra produced by a simulation that includes hydrodynamics, radiative cooling, variable molecular abundance, and radiative transfer in a simple one-dimensional model. The results suggest that the starless cores can...

Multi objective optimization of the vibration analysis of composite natural gas pipelines in nonlinear thermal and humidity environment under non-uniform magnetic field

The fluid-conveying pipe is a fundamental dynamical problem in the field of fluid– structure interactions. In recent years considerable attention has been given to the lateral vibrations of pipes containing by a moving fluid. In this paper, the vibration analysis of composite natural gas pipeline in the thermal and humidity environment is studied. The effect of the non-uniform magnetic field is...
